Despite being integral to Pochettino's plans this season, Fernandez has faced criticism for his perceived lack of impact in Chelsea's midfield. He has struggled to realise his potential since his £106.8 million ($131m) move from Benfica and has also found himself at the centre of transfer speculation amidst the team's recent struggles.

Fernandez's agent has univocally refuted claims of a Chelsea exit and re-emphasised the World Cup winner's commitment to the Chelsea project.
"The player has no intention of leaving," he told
"The leaders were very clear with this project. It is a plan that was going to be difficult at the beginning because new and young players were going to arrive, but when the pieces of the team fit together well, Chelsea was going to move forward."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Along with Moises Caicedo, Fernandez was expected to drive Chelsea's lofty ambitions in England and subsequently in Europe. However, concerns have been raised about the utilization of the dynamic midfield duo by Pochettino, with their chemistry appearing fractured, which has often led to half-baked build-up during matches.
Nonetheless, Perez insisted that the player is determined to turn the tables in London and added: "Fernandez's desire is to be on the team and succeed. We don't meet with any clubs or try to talk to any clubs. We know what the player's desire is. Obviously, he would like the club to be in another position, but that will be achieved with work."
DID YOU KNOW?
Fernandez has appeared in 20 of Chelsea's 23 Premier League fixtures this campaign. However, he has been lacking in delivering the end product as the Argentine has just two goals and one assist for the Blues this term in the English top-flight.
