Rangers put in a big performance that saw them overcome Braga away from home, securing a 4-2 aggregate win and place in the Europa League Round of 16.

It is Ryan Kent who scored the Gers’ goal on the night, as he raced to get on the end of Ianis Hagi’s ball behind the Braga defence, before slotting it past Matheus.

George Edmundson is another man who put in a big performance, which saw him lauded by fans on Twitter, while the 22-year-old also showed his delight through a post on Instagram.

He was an indomitable figure in the Rangers backline, making one tackle without being dribbled past, blocking one shot, making one interception and eight clearances throughout the 90 minutes.

In his post, the centre-back said “that’s why I came to Rangers, for nights like that”. To show how far he has come, on the same day last year, he will have been preparing to face Stevenage in League Two, having lost 3-1 against Bury a few days earlier.
