Gloucestershire CCC31-Jan-2002A very entertaining and highly competitive afternoon of cricket was enjoyed by all four teams.In the first game Old England set Winterbourne a very respectable 100 to chase and from a very desperate situation of 70 for 5, Jack Page batted out to put on the 30 needed to win.The second game saw Lick’n Chick’n probably at their best, score 95 for 4 in their twelve overs with Parvez scoring an undefeated 38. Blagdon were put under immediate pressure and were never in the hunt being dismissed for 44.In the third and fourth position play-off Old England chased and reached a very respectable score of 65 with a six off the first ball of the last over with only one wicket left.The much awaited match between Winterbourne and Lick’n Chick’n was a very competitive low scoring game with Lick’n Chick’n eventually batting with great care having been 16 for 3 chasing Winterbourne’s score of 53 for 5. The game was finished in the eleventh over with Shabir and Prem still together.
